Internship Description
The UNICEF Internship Programme offers eligible/qualified students at both Headquarters and country offices the opportunity to acquire direct practical experience in UNICEF\’s work under the direct supervision of experienced UNICEF staff.

Internships are offered depending on the availability of meaningful assignments and the needs and capacity of units/offices to receive and supervise interns.

UNICEF is active in various functional areas related to its mandate, which can be categorized in three main pillars: Programme and Policy, External Relations and Operations. If you are committed, creative professional, are passionate about making a lasting difference for children, and are comfortable working in a challenging environment, the world\’s leading children\’s rights organization would like to hear from you.

Eligibility
REQUIREMENTS:

  • At the time you would like to start your internship with UNICEF, you will be enrolled in a graduate (Master\’s) degree or undergraduate (Bachelor\’s) degree and will have completed at least two years of full-time studies towards completion of your undergraduate degree.
  • You must have excellent academic performance and can demonstrate it by your recent university or other academic institution records.
  • You must be proficient in at least one of UNICEF\’s working languages (English, French or Spanish) and fluent in the working language of the office you are interested to work in.

Internship duration
While most of the internships are full time, some can be done on a part-time or even ‘virtual’ basis. How long and how often you work depends on the agreement with the supervisor and the project and office you are assigned to. But, as a general guide, internships last between six weeks and six months

Internship benefits
Opportunity to acquire direct practical experience in UNICEF’s work under the direct supervision of experienced staff. Internships are non-remunerative. All successful applicants are expected to make their own arrangements for travel, lodging and living expenses during the internship period.
